About the ART CAMP

We are a team of 14 leaders from different parts of the Czech Republic, United Kingdom and Canada so that we can run workshops in all the arts and sports.

On 11.08. - 02.09. 2024 we are going to fly to Kenya for three weeks, where we will work with the church on two camps, in two villages in the middle of the bush - Ndere and Kapiyo, and where we will work with a group of  200 to 300 children with the help of local people. The children will attend Art Camp every day for one week, where lunch and snacks will be provided. Pastor Paul from Kenya will lead programs where we reflect on examples of God's freedom in the Bible. We will be in smaller groups each day discussing what this means for our daily lives.

Throughout the week we will be creating an art project where we will work through the theme of freedom in each workshop. At the end of the week, we will present it publicly. Our goal is not a perfect result but is the journey to get there during the week.

Thank you for all the support you give us, both prayerfully and financially, so that we can fulfil God's mission to these people. We believe that by God's grace, the transformation of one person can transform others and bring God's kingdom among us.

We want to invest in the younger generation who live in a poor part of Kenya where there are not so many opportunities for personal development, employment and many people end up in addictions of various kinds because of this. That is why we decided on the theme "Living in Freedom".

our
GOALS

To build a generation that will live in freedom because they are the hope and future of the nation.

To support the growth of their children and community, to point out and strengthen who they are in Christ.

To show the youth of Kenya God's character through art and creativity as one means of expressing the love of God.

To share our relationship with God in the community.

Why this particular community?

We have good contacts among local people who are trying to help their community, both practically and in spiritual growth.

The last time I was in Kenya, I felt a desire to return sometime and help serve churches that serve in poor areas and do not have rich patrons behind them.

As soon as Hank came up with the idea of expanding Effatha's ministry to Kenya and to just such an unchurched area, I rejoiced.

I am a great supporter of the whole Art Camp project and Hanka's subsequent longer-term work, and I sincerely hope that there will be enough supporters to enable many young, gifted Kenyans to develop their artistic and spiritual potential.
