It doesn't end with the Camp

Hanka will remain in the same area for the entire school year, build on the relationships made at the camps, continue to serve the local community with music education and support Pastor Paul's ministry by teaching how to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, serving the poor widows... as God will continue to lead her.

a few words FROM HANKA

I desire to share with people my life, my faith in Jesus Christ and the gifts I have been given in life, including my musical education and teaching experience. I want to live among people in their community, learn from relationships with local people, support their own culture, be sensitive to their needs and adapt to them and offer them what I can enrich them with, some aspects of the culture in which I grew up. I would like us to be able to inspire each other and learn from each other.

someone might be thinking, WHY GO TO KENYA WITH ART, WHEN THE PEOPLE THERE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT...

I thought the same last year. But when I was there, I saw that they are interested in learning new skills, that people of all social statuses are interested in music and that it is a "language of their heart" that can connect them to God and help them through difficult situations, to which they are exposed. I realized that art and creativity are not a luxury for those who have a secure life, but on the contrary, it is a potential that allows the expansion of the perspective and can ultimately lead to a change in the outlook on life both for the individual and for the whole community. That is why I think that developing creativity where all basic needs are not met yet is important.

There is a lot of poverty in Kenya, but not everyone is poor and material security is not the most important thing. There is hopelessness among people, they see no chance for a better future, and many people drown in addictions to forget and escape from reality (similar to Europe, although we are much better off materially). I think they need to find and grasp the hope and freedom that Jesus Christ offers us in order to see the potential that God has placed in them and that He sees in them. I want to encourage them to see it too and, with God's help, use it for themselves and for the good of their community. In Kenya, I met people who use music in the local church, but there is a possibility also to develop future teachers musically, and I believe that other possibilities will open up. It is therefore a support for the future, when they can pass on musical skills to "their" people without cultural barriers.

HE IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE… SO I GO

This is my personal confession that currently leads me to follow Christ on a path that is for me a challenge, a hope and a lesson of faith.

In my ministry, I am supported by my home church Network Prague and the national Effatha Christian choir ministry. If the project appeals to you, you can make a financial gift to the account on the poster or to the Art Camp account. When the Art Camp needs are met, contributions will go to my ministry. Thank you for your favour and support.
